“Poles have no knowledge about how they communicate dogs”

– Each bite shows that something has happened, nothing happens without a reason, there is always a reason – indicates Lucyna Grzelec, Zoopsycholok, behaviorist.

Poles and Poles love dogs – there are eight million in the country. Only British have more dogs. – There is a dog in every third farm in Poland, so this supervision of dogs should also be much more responsible – indicates Izabela Kadłucka.

Love is one thing, and understanding is another matter. – Poles have no knowledge about how they communicate dogs. There is no requirement in Poland to have knowledge about the behavior of a dog before you get such a dog. Such requirements are, for example, in Germany – says prof. Hanna Mamzer from the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, a court ran in the field of animal welfare.

Dogs in Poland bite more often in the villages, usually in summer and on weekends. More often, they are unwasted males, usually not foreign, but not their own, but friendly dogs – such as a neighbor's dog or friends.

– Dogs have the same way as people, sometimes bad upbringing also affects – says one of our interlocutors.

People often read the signals sent by dogs badly

Many bites could be avoided, because before he does something, the dog is first communicated – with their own signals. – These signals are very fast and most people do not understand them, because we interpret them in our human canons – says prof. Hanna Mamzer.

– The dog licks, so people react: but it is cute, how fun it is. The dog yawns: Oh, he is probably tired. While in fact, both behavior indicates the fear that this dog is experiencing – notes Lucyna Grzelec.

These signals are flawlessly read by the owner of Amstaf, who is called Mario. – His hair is simply on the back of the hedgehog, the tail is made and twisted, then the probability that he will attack is 100 % – indicates the dog's owner.

Mario can bite when he is afraid or when he defends. Dogs also bite when they are neglected, closed and unhappy.

– In the case of biting such, for example, these dogs withdraw from this attack. However, dogs that are frustrated, which are kept in bad conditions, they simply bite very severely – says Izabela Kadłucka.
