Last Wednesday, police from the Police Station in Kadzidle near Ostrołęka detained a 43-year-old driving a Volkswagen car for road control. From a resident of the Ostrołęka poviat, they sensed the smell of alcohol. The conducted sobriety test showed a man over a promil of alcohol in the body.

Also checking it in police systems showed that he has an active court ban on driving all motor vehicles. He was imposed for driving under the influence of alcohol.

From custody to the courtroom

– The surprising situation probably for the driver himself was the fact that for the crime he was detained in police custody, from where he came directly to the court trial. The case took place in the so -called accelerated mode, and the sentence was passed several hours after arrest – said the spokesman for the Ostrołęka police Commissioner Tomasz Żerański. The policeman added that “in view of the irresponsible driver, the court ruled a five -month penalty of absolute imprisonment, a lifetime ban on driving motor vehicles, 10,000 zlotys a fine, police supervision and a ban on leaving the country combined with the ban on issuing a passport.”

– We remind you that every case of breaking the ban on driving vehicles will meet with a firm reaction of law enforcement agencies. In order to eliminate such dangerous drivers, policemen will use an accelerated mode each time. This means that within a maximum of 48 hours of stopping, the driver faces a court – the spokesman warned the drivers.
