From boilers to arms: Rafakoi.e. Raciborska Fabryka Kotłów has been an enterprise operating in the energy industry for over 50 years. In September 2024, the company's management board filed for bankruptcy, and the court accepted the application in December. However, there are many indications that the factory can still be saved. Instead of the production of energy blocks and heating devices, there will be reinforcing production. – The state will invest some money in Rafako to keep this place. Nothing prevents you from starting reinforcing production where boilers were once produced – he announced on Tuesday, April 15 prime minister Donald Tusk.
New life in the reinforcement? Rafako is one of the largest employers in the region, after the company's bankruptcy, about 700 people were released. Although, as the prime minister “continuation of the production for which Rafako was famous, it is impossible”, he at the same time added that there are both Polish and European funds for the state's security and reinforcing production to spend. – Rafako, Racibórz, Silesia – This may be a place where production for the defense of Poland or Europe can achieve a large scale. At the end of January, the prime minister received an open letter from local government officials in Racibórz with a request to accelerate “rescue” procedures. Despite the talks of the Industrial Development Agency with the trustee, group layoffs began. The current declaration of the Prime Minister gives a chance that at least some of the dismissed people will find employment in new defense plants.
