Voice Irena Santor has been echoing in many Polish homes for years. She is the one behind unique hits such as: “Play beautiful gypsy”, “There are no more wild beaches” and “No one will give back these years”. Unfortunately, the singer has already made her decision about the end of his career. Santor she decided to take such a step during the pandemic – performing then began to tire her. “I took advantage of the pandemic and said that I was saying goodbye to the stage,” the artist said in an interview with the Newseria Lifestyle website. After this time, she gave many interviews. She decided to open up about her private life, which had its share of difficult moments.

Let's start with one of the first shocking stages in the star's life. She became an orphan at the age of 16. First, she said goodbye to her father, who died after the outbreak of World War II. He was murdered by the Nazis. Shortly after the war, she also died mother. “I wasn't the only one orphaned child. After the war, there was an army of people like me, but it was difficult. “We had to do without hugging our mother,” she admitted in one of the interviews. Despite many difficult moments, the artist did not give up. “I went through hell, but I'm alive, I'm here and I appreciate it” – recalled Santor in “Viva!”. This is not the end of heartbreaking goodbyes. The singer buried beloved husband StanisÅ‚aw Santor in 1999. His grave is in the PowÄ…zki cemetery. What is even more painful is the fact that there are two names on the tombstone. The star's daughter, Sylwia, was buried in the same place. She died two days after her birth in 1959. Santor hid this tragedy for years. “I haven't talked about it my whole life, it's my very intimate story and private matter.” – she told “Dobre Tygodnik”.

The star later began to have serious health complications. In 2000, she suffered from breast cancer, which she decided to speak out loudly in the Polish media. “I was looking for doctors. Those who would heal me. God? Maybe indirectly, because he created wise people, and therefore good doctors. I believed that when I turned to them, they would heal me,” Santor told “Wprost”. At the beginning of the disease, she ran to specialists in panic. She wanted to remove the cancer as quickly as possible. “Sadness and uncertainty began. Will it work? Can it be cured? Fortunately, there were doctors. Their care and support helped me. They slowly gave me the confidence that everything must be OK” – she added. Ultimately, the star underwent surgery and regained her strength. There was no chemotherapy.
