Benjamin Netanyahu will go to Hungary this week, where he will meet the head of the local government Viktor Orban – the office of the Prime Minister of Israel said on Sunday. Netanyahu has been prosecuted by the International Criminal Court in Hague since November last year. Orban, inviting his guest earlier, was to ensure that the arrest warrant “would not be carried out”.

The Reuters agency reported, citing the office of the Israeli prime minister, that Benjamin Netanyahu is to fly to Hungarian on Wednesday. His return to the country is scheduled for Sunday. During the visit of Netanyahu, he is to talk with the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban and other high -level officials in Budapest.

In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (MTK) in Hague issued an arrest of the Prime Minister Israel in connection with the suspicion of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in the territory of Israel and the Gaza Zone.

Invitation from Orban

Reuters reminded that Orban invited Netanyahu to visit his country in November last year, maintaining that the Tribunal's order to arrest “would not be carried out”.

Orban also condemned the decision of the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant of Prime Minister of Israel. The French daily “Le Monde” wrote that the Netanyahu office published a letter from Orban, in which the Hungarian prime minister was to determine the decision of the MTK with “shameful movement”.

Hungary is a member of the MTK, but the Roman statute establishing the court has not been announced in this country because it was considered unconstitutional. The authorities in Budapest stated in the past that in the event of arrival in Hungary, the leader prosecuted by the MTK Russia Vladimir Putin or Netanyahu, they will not be arrested.

Pressure on support in the Gaza Strip

According to the Times of Israel, Netanyahu will use his visit to Hungary to press Hungary for the President's plan USA Trump about the Gaza Strip.

“Netanyahu is trying to build a coalition consisting of as many countries supporting this idea as possible,” said the interlocutor “Times of Israel”.

In February this year, after talking to Netanyahu, Trump announced that the US would “take control of the Gaza Strip”. He announced that America would equalize this area with earth and create a “unlimited number of jobs” there. When asked if he would send American soldiers to Gaza, Trump replied that he would “do what is necessary.”

Netanyahu supported Trump's idea, saying that one of Israel's goals is to ensure that Gaza would not be ruled by Hamas.
