The Times of Israel website reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not currently plan to participate in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. As noted by the portal, the prime minister's adviser provided information that Netanyahu was not planning to come to Poland, just after the president Andrzej Duda asked the government to provide the opportunity to participate in the Prime Minister's celebrations Israelif he expressed such a will.

Celebration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the German Auschwitz camp

The Auschwitz Museum announced on Wednesday that 10 state delegations, including Poland, have already confirmed their participation in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the German Auschwitz camp.

The delegation will be headed by crowned heads and presidents. The most important guests at the anniversary ceremony will be former prisoners of German Nazi concentration camps. The organizers expect several dozen people to come from all over the world.

Israel will be represented during the ceremony by Education Minister Yoav Kisch, the ministry's spokesman said.

ICC issues arrest warrant for Netanyahu

Netanyahu is subject to an arrest warrant issued by International Criminal Court in connection with accusations of war crimes in the Gaza Strip. In November, the Court issued an arrest warrant at the request of the ICC's chief prosecutor in the context of Israel's military campaign against the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas.

In an interview with the Times of Israel, a senior Netanyahu adviser said the issue of the arrest warrant would need to be resolved before travel could be considered. – We will consider coming if we receive an invitation. This is not on the agenda for now, the official said on condition of anonymity. – First of all, Poland will have to solve the ICC issue – he added.
