Israeli forces attacked the Syrian port of Latakia on Monday. Satellite photos show it before and after the attack. “The navy carried out an operation to destroy the Syrian fleet with great success last night,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a statement.
According to information provided by the British maritime safety agency Ambrey, Israeli forces launched an attack on at least six Syrian warshipswhich were located in the port of Latakia. Reuters satellite images show ships damaged by Israeli attacks.
“The Israeli army has carried out operations in Syria in recent days to strike and destroy strategic capabilities that threaten the State of Israel. The navy carried out an operation with great success last night to destroy the Syrian fleet,” wrote the defense minister. Israel Israel Kac in a statement.
He added that the operation “was part of a broad campaign aimed at neutralizing strategic threats to the country.”
