The flood in Queensland in Autralia caused “unbelievable” damage among the local community – the prime minister of this state David Crisafulli assessed. The fight against great water has been going on there since Saturday, when the northern regions were flooded with a wave of rain. Although the worst forecasts of meteorologists have not come true, many residents are afraid that they will not have anything to come back to.
Thanks to the gradual improvement of the weather, thousands of evacuated people could return to their homes. Among the inhabitants, however, there are fears that extreme rainfall led to the flooding of buildings and thus the loss of life achievements. According to David Crisafulli, the flood in the state of Queensland caused “unbelievable” damage among the local community.
“This is a disaster that will test our determination,” said ABC Premier Queensland.
From Saturdays, the northern regions of Australian states have been facing an extreme flood. Extremely heavy rainfall meant that in many places the water level reached two meters. Two people were killed in the disaster.

The night from Monday to Tuesday was crucial for thousands of people who had to leave their homes earlier for fear of flooding. Fortunately, the weather in the last hours in Queensland did not bring additional rainfall.
“We believe that the danger has passed,” said the disaster management office in Townsville, which in the communiqué added that the city “miraculously avoided threat.”

Although the worst forecasts have not worked, in many places there is still a lack of electricity, and many roads are impassable. This applies, among others, to the cities of Ingham and Cardwell, which have experienced serious damage.
“There are people who were flooded in their homes, companies and farms,” ​​said Crisafulli on Tuesday.
According to local energy supplier, there are still no power access. Prime Minister Queensland emphasized that the reconstruction after the disaster will “take some time”, and the current priority is to provide power generators as soon as possible to places cut off from the world.
