Italy. The boy called the number 112 and ordered pizzas, thanks to which he saved his family

I want to order a pizza – said a ten -year -old boy from the vicinity of Rome, who called the emergency number 112. His courage and understanding of the appeal for help by the headquarters operator saved the child's mother and his siblings from an aggressive father.

The incident occurred in the town of Latina near Latina in the capital region of Lacjium. The ten -year -old boy called the emergency number and – as Il Messaggero reported – he asked for “pizza ordering with home delivery”. The Italian media drew attention to the huge reflex of the headquarters operator, who, in response to the request for pizza delivery, asked the boy: – Are you in danger? Does anyone hurt you?

The 10-year-old did not hang up and allowed the headquarters operator to listen to what was happening. There were screams and noise in the background. Then the operator quickly located the phone from which the child called and sent a carabinier patrol immediately. They arrived within a few minutes when an aggressive father beat his children and wife. The attacker has been overpowered and was ordered to leave the house. He will be responsible for abuseing family members.

Italian media recognized the attitude of a ten -year -old as an example of heroism. It turned out that he had already called 112 in the hope that someone would understand, that he was asking for help. These attempts have not been correctly interpreted by operators.

Monica Sansoni, who acts as a spokeswoman for the rights of the Lacjium region, in an interview with “Il Messaggero” praised the boy who – as she assessed – “had great courage to ask for help in an effective way, and at the same time discreet, so that his father would not find out what he was doing, so he managed to protect his mother, and probably also himself and other family members.”

She also talked about the need to properly train law enforcement officers so that they could do the best in similar crisis situations.
