Two trucks collided head-on on national road number 7 in Jabłonka (Lesser Poland Voivodeship). The accident occurred before the border crossing with Slovakia. There are ongoing disruptions there. After heavy snowfall in Podhale, a series of accidents occurred on Friday afternoon.
The accident was announced on Friday by the spokesman of the Małopolska Fire Department, Junior Captain. Hubert Cieply. As he said, the driver of one of the trucks was stuck in the cabin of the vehicle. Firefighters, using specialized tools, extricated the injured person. He was transported by LPR helicopter to hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the second truck was also injured and was also taken to hospital. Both men were conscious.
There are still difficulties on the national road No. 7 in Jabłonka, as well as on the intersecting provincial roads No. 957 and 962. The causes of the accident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor.
More accidents
Several minutes after this accident, on the snow-covered DW957 between Jabłonka and Piekielnik, there was another collision, this time of three passenger cars. Then, the services were called to a collision of two passenger cars on the same road in Ludźmierz.
The police appeal to drivers to adjust their speed, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and avoid sudden maneuvers during difficult weather conditions.
