Weronika Sosnowska, the current main breeder, has been the duties of the president of the stud in Janów Podlaski (Lublin). She took the position after the resignation of Leszek Świętochowski, who went to the national food group. Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office is investigating the suspicion of mismanagement, which was to reach in the stud.

According to the director general of Kowr Henryk Smolarz, the decision was made by the meeting of partners of the company “Stud of Janów Podlaski”.

Sosnowska has been a main breeder at the Stadnin for nearly a year. However, now its most important task will be the ongoing running of the stud and completing the implemented investments. It is also to be prepared for the construction of a photovoltaic farm, conduct a preliminary analysis of the possibilities of building a biogas plant and prepare the Pride of Poland auction and 47. Sosnowska, before she came to Janów Podlaski, was associated with, among others with studs in Michałów and Kurozwęki. She took the new position on Tuesday, April 1.

The previous boss became the president of the National Food Group

As indicated by the CEO of KOWR, the decision of the assembly is related to the decision of the current president of the Stud Leszek Świętochowski, who resigned last week.

Świętochowski became the president of the National Food Group. He will perform the function until the new president is appointed as a result of the qualification procedure, which will be conducted by the Supervisory Board.

Świętochowski is a local government official associated with PSLMP of this grouping for the Sejm of the Third and Fourth term and president of the Agricultural Property Agency in 2012-2015. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Agriculture of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He managed the Janów stud from February 2024 as its eighth president since the dismissal of Marek Trela ​​in 2016.

– I leave the stud in good hands. The new president has my recommendation – said Leszek Świętochowski in an interview with tvn24.pl.

An investigation has been initiated

In January, we wrote about the fact that the prosecutor's office initiated an investigation into the suspicion of mismanagement, which was to come at the stud. As reported by Rzeczpospolita – a notification made by a private person shows that the stud should earn on advertising around the ring during the Pride of Poland auction organized by her, and she did not earn, because there were no ads.

In addition, the event company was not to present settlements. Both Leszek Świętochowski and Anna Stojanowska (adviser to the Director General of the National Agricultural Support Center) were calm. They claimed in an interview with tvn24.pl and TVN24 that there were no irregularities.

The former president says that the investigation had no influence on his departure

– Nobody interrogated me, and the hypothesis of the person who made a notification to the prosecutor's office have nothing to do with reality – says former president of the stud.

The first auction took place in 1970

The Stud in Janów Podlaski is the oldest state horse stud in Poland. Every year in August, crowds of breeders and lovers of Pure Blood Arabian horses attract thanks to two events – the Polish National Arabian Horse Show, which has been organized since 1979, and Arab horse auctions Pride of Poland (under this name since 2001). The first auction took place in 1970.

In January, Świętochowski reported that the loss of the stud in 2024 would probably be at the level of 2023, i.e. about PLN 2 million, at 20 percent. Increasing costs, among others place. However, in 2025, expenses should be equal to revenues.
