There is an ongoing dispute between the Minister of Finance and the National Electoral Commission regarding their response to the ruling of the Chamber of Public Affairs and Extraordinary Control of the Supreme Court, which invalidated the National Electoral Commission's decision to withdraw the PiS subsidy. And where did this whole thing start? We remind you how during the campaign before the 2023 parliamentary elections, PiS politicians promoted themselves at picnics for public money.
Karol Nawrocki, as an absolutely non-partisan, independent candidate nominated by citizens, is worried about the campaign. – I am also concerned that it is gaining such imbalance in the financial sense from the very beginning – said Karol Nawrocki, president of the Institute of National Remembrance and PiS candidate for president.
Earlier, the chief of staff of the “non-partisan candidate” put it a bit more directly. – You deserve a subsidy. We are currently being robbed of this subsidy – commented Paweł Głosernaker, MP from Law and Justice and Karol Nawrocki's chief of staff, on December 30.
– We will hold liable, with interest and compensation, anyone who illegally withholds money from us, announced Małgorzata Wassermann, an MP from Law and Justice.
– One side, so to speak, of the political scene, which will have all the tools and therefore will rule constantly, and the other side, which will not use these tools and will fight with one hand tied behind its back – commented Marcin Horała, MP from Law and Justice Justice.

Picnic after picnic before the elections
After all, it was necessary to use public funds with both hands to “persuade” citizens to receive funds from the Family 800 plus program.
The former head of the Government Legislation Center, Krzysztof Szczucki, allegedly employed 7 people at RCL who helped him in the campaign. They worked remotely and did not log in to work systems. – The actions I took were all legal – the PiS MP defends himself today.
Zbigniew Ziobro did not promote himself, but his fight against crime, and President Jarosław Kaczyński himself appeared at military picnics basically by accident.
– Go to the polls. Vote for Law and Justice! – called the president of Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński, during one of such military picnics in August 2023. – Tusk is, you could say, the personification of evil in Poland. This is pure evil! – he urged.

Moreover, the political agitation lasted “only a moment”. – Perhaps at this picnic, one could say that two or three words were said too many – admitted Marcin Horała. – Turning this into a game changer in the election campaign is absurd – he added.
The justice system and PiS
If public money was spent illegally somewhere, then, of course, the prosecutor's office should deal with it, although this is also a serious problem.
– The national prosecutor, i.e. the person who heads the entire prosecutor's office, is illegal – said Michał Wójcik, an MP from Law and Justice.

According to PiS, the National Electoral Commission is politicized now, and it was not when its members were appointed by PiS.
The judgments of European tribunals in the case created by the Law and Justice Chamber of Public Affairs and Extraordinary Control are irrelevant. After all, the fact that lawyers associated with the party, headed by the president's friend, sit in the chamber does not prove anything. After all, they were there on the recommendation of the “independent” National Council of the Judiciary – here “by accident” led by a friend of the former Minister of Justice.
– We have never before had to deal with a situation in which we had doubts about the status of the Supreme Court, which decides on electoral matters – pointed out Paweł Gieras, a member of the National Electoral Commission.
The president does not share these doubts. – This is complete nonsense. This chamber is completely legal. Referring to European tribunals makes no sense here, said Jarosław Kaczyński.
Politicians from his party add that if the party does not receive “the money that is simply due to it”, “the courts will decide”, including “European tribunals”.
