The recording from the Smolensk monthly commemoration on September 10 shows Jarosław Kaczyński hitting an activist in the face with his hand. For this reason, the Sejm waived the immunity of the PiS president. We are publishing a video that was previously presented to MPs at a meeting of the Rules Committee.
On Wednesday, during the rules and parliamentary and immunity committee, two days before decision of the Sejm to revoke the immunity of Jarosław Kaczyński, MPs dealt with, among others, a private prosecutor's request of October 10, 2024 for consent to bring the president of Law and Justice to criminal liability.
The motion concerned the PiS president hitting an activist during the Smolensk monthly celebrations on September 10.

Recording with Kaczyński
While the application was being considered by the committee, a video showing the moment of impact was broadcast on the screen.
The recording shows people crowded close together and there is a lot of confusion around. Komosa has a microphone with him and shouts that “Jarosław Kaczyński is breaking the law” and “breaking court judgments.” – Please apologize for the attack you invented for political reasons – says the activist, turning to Kaczyński standing next to him.
At the same time, many screams can be heard – including: calling the police to disperse the crowd. One of the women can be heard saying – May I kindly ask you to pass?
– We would like to pass. Police! – he calls after a while. Officers can be seen among the crowd in the crowd.
The material also records Kaczyński trying to take the microphone from Komosa, but he does not allow it.
At one point, the video shows the fist and blow that the PiS president allegedly dealt to the activist. After that, Komosa stops talking. The circle gathered around the PiS president begins to chant: “the red crow will not defeat the eagle.”
Matecki: the rioters blocked the MPs from leaving
The recording, which was presented at the committee, was published by PiS MP Dariusz Matecki on the day of the discussed Smolensk monthly on the X platform.
He wrote that “some lunatics threw something at opposition MPs, drowned out prayers and the press conference.” He added that “the rioters blocked the MPs from leaving.” This and other recordings on the PiS MP's profile show scuffles between those gathered.
