The head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas will not meet with the Secretary of State of the US Marco Rubio during her visit to Washington – said a spokeswoman for the EU delegation in Washington. Originally their talks were scheduled for Wednesday. As an Estonian politician announced a few days ago, she intended to discuss the issue of peace negotiations with Rubio regarding the war in Ukraine.
As the spokeswoman for the European Union delegation in Washington Adrian Brassart, a representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kai Kallas and its American counterpart Marco Rubio will not happen due to “schedule problems”.
She added that Kallas would talk on Wednesday and Thursday only with Congressmen and Senators to “discuss Russia's war against Ukraine and transatlantic relations”, and will appear in the conservative Think-Tanku Hudson Institute.
In the weekly schedule sent to journalists by the State Department USA The Rubio meeting from Kallas was planned for Wednesday. However, in the daily schedule published on Wednesday, this point disappeared. The State Department has not yet answered the questions of the Polish Press Agency on this subject.

“No peace agreement concluded without Ukraine and without Europe has no chance of success”
The visit of the European Commission vice -chairman on Thursday is her first trip to the USA from taking the EU office and a change in power in Washington.
The Estonian politician still said on Monday that he was going to discuss the issue of peaceful negotiations with the US Secretary of State regarding wars in Ukraine.
– I have already said it very clearly that no peace agreement concluded without Ukraine And without Europe there is no chance of success in practice. So we also have to cooperate with this agreement – she said at the conference after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels. At that time, she criticized the rhetoric of Washington about Ukraine and calling the Ukrainian president a “dictator”. “If you look at the news from the United States, it is clear that the Russian narrative is very strongly represented there,” she said.
Recently, the president Donald Trump called Volodymyra Zelanski “Dictator without elections” – Referring to the fact that because of the war, the presidential elections planned for last year – and blamed Ukraine for the invasion, which coincides with the Kremlin propaganda.
This says, among other things, that Zelanski “forbade” the election, while the Ukrainian law prohibits the organization of presidential, parliamentary, referendum elections or making changes to the constitution during martial law.
