A serious fire occurred in the morning at the Tax Office in Kartuzy (Pomeranian Voivodeship). One firefighter had an accident while extinguishing the fire. He was taken to hospital.
We received information about the fire at the Tax Office in Kartuzy on the night from Saturday to Sunday at around 3.30 am via the website Contact 24. In this matter, we contacted the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Kartuzy. – The fire started near the garage building, then moved to the facade of the main tax office building. It also partially covered the roof structure – said Capt. Mateusz Pielowski, press officer of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Kartuzy.
17 state and volunteer fire brigades were present at the scene. Extinguishing the fire required large amounts of water, which flooded other floors. The Tax Office initially estimated the losses at PLN 2 million. The official archive was not destroyed.
One firefighter from the Volunteer Fire Department suffered an accident during the operation. He was taken to hospital for tests. However, the spokesman for the State Fire Service assures that it was not a serious accident.
