Komorów. A teenager was charged with using a fake school ID

A 19-year-old from Komorów near Warsaw will be charged with using a forged school ID. The false document aroused the suspicions of a public transport ticket inspector, who reported the matter to the police. The penalty for using false documents is up to five years in prison.

The case of the fake ID is being dealt with by officers from the police station in Michałowice. Their findings show that the teenager used the document while checking tickets on a city bus. The inspector asked her to show a document authorizing her to purchase a discounted ticket.

– The teenager benefited from a school discount, but she presented an ID card as a document, which aroused the inspector's suspicions as to its authenticity. The inspector informed the police about his suspicions. The intervening police officers determined that the ID card was not authentic, and the teenager admitted that she bought it online, reports staff aspirant Monika Orlik from the District Police Headquarters in Pruszków.

He adds that the police charged the teenager with committing a crime. – The 19-year-old confessed and voluntarily submitted to the fine – he notes.

The case is supervised by the District Prosecutor's Office in Pruszków.

What is the penalty for using false documents?

– Young people sometimes come up with ideas such as using a forged document to overstate or understate their age and thus achieve their goals. We warn you: this action has serious legal consequences and may also affect the young person's future. Penalizing for falsifying documents will limit access to many professions in the future, warns the policewoman.

The Penal Code states that using false documents or forging them is punishable by imprisonment from three months to five years. In “minor” cases, the perpetrator may face a fine, restriction of liberty or up to two years in prison.
