After an all-night operation, firefighters managed to extinguish a fire at industrial halls in Krępice (Lower Silesia Province). 2.5 thousand cubic meters of wooden pallets burned.
On Sunday at 11:23 p.m. firefighters received a report of a fire involving wooden pallets.
– After the first unit arrived at the site, they found a fully developed fire on a stack of pallets located in a fenced area, with industrial halls nearby. The fire brigade's actions consisted primarily in defending the hall, which was located twenty meters away. 2.5 thousand cubic meters of pallets burned – said Junior Asp. Jakub Udała, press officer from the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Środa Śląska.
A total of 19 teams took part in the action. The police and the energy emergency service were also on site.
– National road number 94 was blocked in both directions at the time of the operation due to thermal radiation. It is now passable again. The fire extinguishing operation is currently underway – he added.
