Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, admitted in the “#BezKitu” program on TVN24 that he “dreams” of becoming the leader of the Left. He said that he intended to run in the party elections for this position. He also said that “a separation is approaching” between the Left club and the Razem party.

Gawkowski was asked in “#BezKitu” on TVN24 whether he dreams of becoming the leader of the Left. – I dream about it. Dreams don't always come true, so I look at it calmly, he replied.

– I'm not running until there are elections, and if there are, I will run someday – he continued. When asked if he could run at the next opportunity, he said that it might happen in 2025, because that's when the party would choose its chairman. New Leftwhich included the former SLD and Spring.

Gawkowski was also asked about what's next with the presence of the Razem party in the Left club. He replied that “a separation is approaching”, although he added that he was not sure yet, but this was his “political feeling”. – In politics, you either go hand in hand and deeply believe in what you are doing, or you look for different paths that do not lead to the same goal – he continued.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that he encouraged Adrian Zandberg and his circle to continue cooperation with the New Left. He said that in the summer he even offered to give Zandberg the positions of deputy prime minister and minister of digitalization, but he refused. – He said no, that they were going a different way. I understand this path. (…). The proposal was left on the table and rejected. We heard that there is a different concept. I think this also shows that some politicians of the Razem party do not want this government concept, and for me it is very important, because I came to the government to implement the Left's plan – the TVN24 guest continued.

Gawkowski: there will be a law that will regulate access to content that is harmful to minors

The Minister of Digital Affairs also spoke about the threats related to the availability of harmful content for minors on the Internet. He pointed to, among other things, patostream and pornography.

– I am wholeheartedly in favor of patostream being banned and for this to be clearly stated in the law. But as the Minister of Digital Affairs, I look at this market in such a way that I give everyone a voice. By the end of this year, we will show how we should regulate harmful content on the Internet, he announced. He said that these would be draft laws. – These must be draft laws that will give the feeling that there are some red lines that we should not cross – he added.

– We will definitely have a law that will regulate not only harmful content on the Internet, but will also regulate issues related to pornography – Gawkowski said. He pointed out that “today, access to pornography is very easy.” He said that currently “one click” is enough for people under 18 to gain access to this content, and age verification online is “an image of ridiculousness.”

When asked what exactly such verification would look like, he replied: – We are finishing work on this tool. We are encouraged to do so using personal identification, i.e. either an ID card or an unidentified QR code that will be attached, for example, to our mObywatel (mObywatel application – ed.). There will be a QR code that will not be identified with name and surname, only with age.,(…). This would apply to anyone who provides pornographic content.
