The information available on the website of the Downdetector website, which collects information about difficulties, showed that people using Blik had difficulties with payments on Saturday after 12:00.

The problems, as entries on the Downdetector website indicated, also affected customers of banks such as PKO BP, Bank Millennium, mBank, Bank Santander, Pekao and ING Bank Śląski.

“Problem with contactless payments, using the Blik code, you can't withdraw money from an ATM (via) Blik” – wrote Mr. Krzysztof on Kontakt 24. “Major Blik failure, you can't pay or make a Blik transfer. It hasn't been working for me for an hour,” Ms. Patrycja said.

Similar reports appeared on the PKO BP Facebook profile. “Blik and contactless payments do not work,” one Internet user reported. “When the application works, I cannot withdraw or pay anything,” wrote another bank client.

Around 2 p.m., the number of reports on the Downdetector website dropped significantly. “Blik is already working,” wrote one of the customers on the PKO BP Facebook profile.

Until the material was published, neither representatives of PSP (Blik's operator) nor any of the banks had published an official statement on this matter.

Some financial institutions had service works planned for this weekend, but in most cases they were to take place on the night from Saturday to Sunday.

Blik payment – what is it?

Blik is a mobile payment system in short. It enables, among other things, making payments in stationary and online stores using six-digit codes. To do this, launch the bank's application on your phone, display the code, enter it on the terminal or on the website when making a transaction, and then confirm the payment with the PIN in the bank's application. The generated Blik code is valid for a maximum of two minutes.

Blik payments can be made online – e.g. in online stores. You can also pay at the checkout in stationary stores or ticket machines. You can also deposit and withdraw money with Blik – using ATMs and cash deposit machines. Blik also enables interbank transfers to the phone – instead of entering the 26-digit account number, only the recipient's phone number is entered.
