Lewis Hamilton’s Mission 44 charity formalises partnership with Components 1 in continued push for change | F1 Information

Components 1 has launched an official collaboration with Mission 44, the charity based by Lewis Hamilton that advocates for higher variety and inclusion in motorsport.

Forward of this weekend’s British Grand Prix, Components 1 introduced that the 2 organisations had been formalising their relationship following years of profitable collaboration.

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, based Mission 44 in 2021 with the purpose of attaining higher illustration, variety, and inclusion in motorsport to create significant change for younger individuals going through social injustice by schooling, empowerment, and employment alternatives.

Components 1 head of atmosphere, social and governance Ellen Jones mentioned: “Over the previous few years, it has been a pleasure to help Mission 44 in its efforts to make our sport extra various and provides college students and younger individuals their first style of the world of F1 and motorsport.

“We sit up for working with Mission 44 on this new capability and seeing what number of doorways we are able to open collectively to encourage the following era.”

Components 1 has labored carefully with Mission 44 to deal with among the challenges surrounding variety and inclusion within the sport, supporting the charity in facilitating once-in-a-lifetime experiences for college students from underrepresented teams and underserved communities to encourage them to think about careers in STEM and motorsport.

In 2023, Mission 44 and Components 1 delivered outreach programmes in Austin, Silverstone, and Sao Paulo, positively impacting greater than 150 younger individuals.

As a part of the official link-up, F1 will help Mission 44 in elevating consciousness of their work and join the charity with organisations throughout motorsport to determine apprenticeships and related alternatives for younger individuals from underrepresented teams.

At Silverstone this weekend, F1 and Mission 44 will host a first-of-its-kind networking occasion that may carry collectively students from the Components 1 Engineering and Mission 44 MSc Motorsport Engineering scholarship programmes to data share and assist with the scholars’ skilled growth.
