During surface work on the construction of a cross-city tunnel in Łódź, an excavator operator unearthed two unexploded bombs. These are probably mines. Train traffic has been suspended.
Deputy Commissioner Adam Dembiński from the Łódź police said that at 5 p.m. the Łódź police officer on duty received a report that during surface work on the construction of a cross-city tunnel, the excavator operator found two unexploded bombs.
– These are most likely mines. Train traffic on the Łódź Kaliska-Łódź Żabieniec route is suspended. The area was secured by the police until the sappers arrived. No one was injured, the policeman added.
Train traffic completely suspended
“Due to the discovery of an unexploded bomb, traffic on the Łódź Żabieniec – Łódź Kaliska section (in both directions) has been completely suspended. Trains leaving from Łódź Widzew station towards Łowicz, Kutno and Zgierz will take a changed route through Łódź Marysin. On the Zgierz – Łódź Kaliska and Replacement buses will run in Łódź Kaliska – Zgierz. The situation is valid until further notice,” says Łódź Aglomeracyjna Kolej Aglomeracyjna in a statement
