There is a decision: Senate accepted on Wednesday 23 April Act reducing the health premium for entrepreneurs from 2026. “For” was 58 senators, 36 was against and three abstained. Now the law will go to the president's desk.

What will Duda do? Prime minister Donald Tusk suggested that President Andrzej Duda will veto the act regarding the health contribution. “After blocking the act on hate speech, the president intends to veto a reduction in the health premium, raised to an absurd level by PIS. As he began, he ends. 105 days left. Will you stand? ” – wrote the head of government on Tuesday on Platform X.

What will change? The amendment to the Act on healthcare services financed from public funds introduces two -element base premium dimension – to a certain level will be flat -rateand there will be a surplus of income percentage. The changes apply to about 2.5 million people conducting business activity and in 2026 (if they enter into force) will cost the state budget PLN 4.6 billion.

Appeal on health contributions: Poland The economy network (PLSE) appealed in an open letter to President Andrzej Duda and the Senate Marshal of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska to the amendment to the Act was rejected about lowering the health premium. It has been indicated that they will “realistically use it on the change best -earning” – emphasized. Psle pointed out that self -employed with revenues up to PLN 5,000 would gain less than PLN 150 monthly, and earning 30,000 PLN will gain OK. PLN 920-1550 (depending on the form of taxation). It was also indicated that the amendment to the Act would contribute to a further growth of fictitious self -employment in Poland, I will deepen demographic problems and will lead to lengthening of queues and pushing patients to the private commercial sector. Candidates for president Adrian Zandberg (Together) and Magdalena Biejat (representing the left) also appealed to the veto of the law to Andrzej Duda.
