Policemen detained a 36-year-old who, last Friday, driving on an electric scooter, hit a 13-year-old girl, and then escaped without providing assistance. The man will hear allegations of causing an accident and escape from the scene. He may face up to 4.5 years in prison.
The accident occurred on Friday (March 18) on Aleja Polish Composers in Lublin. A man driving an electric scooter entered a 13-year-old walking along the street towards Aleja Solidarności, who moved away from the scene.

The uniforms began looking for a man. Policemen patrolled the city, and prevention officers were also sent to the actions. At the same time, the police checked the recordings of urban monitoring, which – as it turned out, recorded the described man moving on a scooter. After publishing the image of the perpetrator, we checked the signals and information received from the residents.
Finally, the 36-year-old was detained after the findings of policemen from the department for offenses and crimes in the KMP traffic in Lublin. “The man will hear allegations of causing an accident and escape from his place. The Penal Code provides for this crime a penalty of up to 4.5 years imprisonment, “told the commissioner Andrzej Fijołek, spokesman for the Provincial Police Commander in Lublin.
A scooter was also secured, which was most likely moved by the 36-year-old at the time of the accident. The device will be subjected to an expert opinion, in order to verify whether there has been an interference in the speed limiter.
