They installed a stolen license plate at the front, and repainted the car with a rolling pin with white paint. The roof was not enough, but it did not discourage 39- and 49-year-old. The men, in such a prepared vehicle, were to steal the power generator at night. After all, for nearly an hour, they tried to live a car in a car wash. Despite the efforts, the perpetrators of the “perfect theft” hit the police.

At night, a power generator worth PLN 150,000 was stolen from the construction area in Lubin (Dolnośląskie Voivodeship). Policemen, analyzing the monitoring cameras, determined what exactly happened. As it turned out, the theft has been carefully planned. Suspects are men aged 39 and 49.

– First, they decided to cheat policemen and surveillance cameras, with the help of a stolen one license plate, which they mounted on the front of their car. Then, with the help of handy tools, i.e. a roller and a brush, they repainted a dark Ford in white. However, the paint was not enough for the roof of the vehicle – said asp. pcs. Krzysztof Pawlik, deputy press officer of the KPP in Lubin.

They tried to wash the paint from the car

The men prepared by car were to go to the construction site and steal the aggregate. After all, they went to a self -service car wash, where they tried to live a car for nearly an hour.

– It was hard because the paint has dried up. Thinking that they deceived everyone, they went home – said Pawlik. – Experienced and extremely effective detectives from the Lubin team to fight the car crime of the Police Criminal Department rubbed their eyes in amazement and hardly stopped laughter, analyzing, among others Records from cameras – he added.

The police determined the 39- and 49-year-old identity and stopped them. The men were charged with theft.

The Ford driver also heard the charge of driving a car, using a license plate that is not entitled to this car. In addition, it turned out that the man was banned from driving motor vehicles.

Lubinians are facing up to 5 years in prison.
