– It is clearly visible that Jarosław Kaczyński is too weak to maintain discipline even in a place that seems to be a very strong PiS stronghold like Małopolska – said Jan Grabiec, head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, in “Fakty po Faktach”. He commented on the lack of election of the Marshal of the Małopolska Province by the regional assembly, where PiS has an absolute majority.

Łukasz Kmita was defeated for the fourth time on Monday evening in the Małopolska regional assembly vote as the PiS candidate for the marshal of this province. Although Law and Justice in the region has the majority, from elections Right-wing councillors are unable to agree on support for their representative, who was anointed by Jarosław Kaczyński himself. On July 1 alone, there were two attempts to elect a marshal. Another attempt is to take place on Tuesday evening.

Grabiec: even PiS councillors do not want to be controlled like puppets from Warsaw

As the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister said in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 Jan Grabiec“it is not good when someone from Warsaw dictates to councilors, for example in Małopolska, or in any other region, who is to hold which functions in local government”. – Especially if it is the president of a party that recently lost the elections and who has completely lost touch with reality – he added.

– It's mainly about the fact that it's his policy, the policy from behind the desk in Warsaw, that is to be implemented in every local government. It's clear that even PiS councilors don't want to be controlled like puppets from Warsaw. They want to decide about their small homeland themselves, it's hard to be surprised – he continued.

Grabiec: it is a result of being detached from reality

Asked whether this is a sign of Jarosław Kaczyński's leadership crisis in Law and Justice, he replied: “I think it is a consequence of being out of touch with reality. Whenever a leader loses, you can see that he is weaker. After all, he lost the parliamentary elections. PiS did not expect this at all. They were convinced that they would govern for a third term.”

– When he does not draw conclusions from this and still tries to rule his people with an iron fist, there is always some reaction. It is clearly visible that Jarosław Kaczyński is too weak to maintain discipline even in a place that seems to be a very strong PiS stronghold like Małopolska – stated the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

He assessed that “it is undoubtedly a defeat, and a spectacular one for Jarosław Kaczyński”. – After all, he got involved, he went there himself, he himself persuaded the councilors to vote. And a moment later the councilors voted completely differently than he wanted. So regardless of how these votes go, it is already a defeat for Jarosław Kaczyński – he added.

Grabiec: we have an ID card signed by Jarosław Kaczyński

Jarosław Kaczyński wrote a letter to Zbigniew Ziobro in 2019in which he requested “an immediate ban on Solidarna Polska candidates from using the Justice Fund during the election campaign,” Gazeta Wyborcza reported, citing the content of the letter. He warned that cases of irregularities “may have disastrous consequences for the course of the campaign.”

The guest of “Fakty po Faktach” commented on the matter. – This is a huge blow to PiS. A blow that may mean the greatest disruption in the history of this party. For the first time, we are not only convinced that Jarosław Kaczyński, that PiS knew about criminal activity in the Justice Fund, that this money, public money, was intended for the election campaign, but we have proof in this case. Proof that is personally signed by Jarosław Kaczyński – said Jan Grabiec.

As he added, “today in PiS there is really a lot of fear, a lot of anxiety about what might happen”. – If National Electoral Commission If PiS deals with the same as it deals with many other political formations that lost party subsidies for years even for minor mistakes, we will be dealing with a completely different quality – he continued.

– PiS has become accustomed to the fact that it is not only supplied with money from subsidies, but also with millions flowing from the presidents of state-owned companies, from various functionaries, that this party is a very rich party and maintains its apparatus for huge amounts of money. If it turned out that they had to support themselves from voluntary contributions, it would be a huge blow to this party – he stated.

– PiS politicians probably did not expect something like this, that such a decisive blow to the party could be dealt by Jarosław Kaczyński himself – he added.

The head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister stressed that Jarosław Kaczyński, as an MP and later Deputy Prime Minister, was obliged to notify the prosecutor's office about the crimes that were known to him. – He did not do that, what's more, he spoke publicly in a completely different way, concealing what was happening there. (…) He did not stop this procedure. He sent the letter when he felt that it could threaten the financial situation of PiS – indicated Grabiec.

As he stated, the prosecutor's office will have “a lot of room to maneuver” in this case. – Perhaps there is some other evidence proving this. Maybe there will be witnesses who will confirm it. I think Jarosław Kaczyński will have to appear before the prosecutor's office and explain the situation – said Grabiec.
