Marcin Kierwiński about reconstruction after the flood: We have already donated almost four billion zlotys

– We have already donated almost four billion zlotys to flood areas. This is a gigantic amount – said in “Facts after Facts” on TVN24 Minister for reconstruction after the flood Marcin Kierwiński. He assured that “everyone who submitted applications got withdrawals.”

Kierwiński talked about the situation in areas that suffered in the flood in September last year. He assessed that “a lot has changed”. – We have properly launched the entire critical infrastructure, necessary to normally function there – he added.

– Today, for example, I was not only in Głuchołazy, where we showed the design of the new bridge, but I was in Tułowice, where we transfer 20 million to a sewage treatment plant, which allows this town to function in a normal way, because for several months this sewage treatment plant has been working in emergency mode – he pointed out.

– We donated over 100 million in the Opole region to launch the sewage treatment plant in Paczków and give the opportunity to expand this sewage treatment plant – he continued.

Kierwiński: Everyone who submitted their applications got withdrawals

The minister also talked about support for flood victims. He assured that “everyone who submitted applications got withdrawals.” – Probably there is a promil of these things, where appeals are pending, where people do not agree with the opinions of local municipal committees, which estimated the amount of losses, but in principle each application is made up for a regular basis, the money goes to people – he said.

He added that “now people will start reconstruction.” He said that at the same time they could use other programs that have been launched. – For example, over 300 million from European funds under the Clean Air program – he pointed out.

– We have already donated almost four billion zlotys to flood areas – for benefits, for the reconstruction of infrastructure, for school support, for the reconstruction of kindergartens – he emphasized.

He assessed that “this is a gigantic amount.” – When I talk to local government officials, they say that there were never such high support in previous floods and it is worth talking about it, although there are probably also places where help will be necessary – said Kierwiński.

“In the second round we have a hard fight for every voice”

Kierwiński also referred to the presidential election, which will take place on May 18. Asked with whom in his opinion the candidate Ko Rafał Trzaskowski would meet in the second round, he assessed that with the candidate PIS Karol Nawrocki. To the remark that in his party there are people who believe that Trzaskowski may enter the second round of the confederation candidate Sławomir Mentzen, he replied: – There are indeed those who think that Menzten is causing Nawrocki.

According to Kierwiński, “PiS has the ability to mobilize his electorate and Nawrocki will enter the second round.” – In the second round we will face every voice, but I am calm when it comes to the result of this battle – he added.
