The independent Russian portal of Meduza said, citing the RIA Nowosti and Tass news agencies, that a joint statement Russia and the United States will be published on Tuesday. According to earlier announcements, after the interviews of the delegation of the US and Russia, the American and Ukrainian sides were to be negotiated again on Monday. For now, it is not clear when this second meeting would happen.

In the conversations ended on Monday, the Russian side was represented by, among others Two diplomats covered by Western sanctions: Grigory Karasin, currently managing the Foreign Committee of the Federation Council (the High Chamber of Parliament), and Sergei Biesisie, adviser to the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB).

According to media and commentators, these are not people who have a real impact on the Kremlin's decisions. According to the Interfax Karasin agency, during the break, after almost three hours of talks, he assessed that they run “creatively” and that both parties discuss issues considered “sensitive” in bilateral relations.

The Kremlin announced on Sunday that the main topic of Monday conversations would be to restore the functioning of the so -called Black Sea initiative. According to the US Department of State, the discussion was to be conducted at expert level, without the participation of American officials in the rank of the minister.

The Black Sea Cereal Initiative was agreed in July 2022 thanks to mediation Turkey and UN. This undertaking enabled – despite the war – the Black Sea exported nearly 33 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products. Russia withdrew from the initiative after a year, claiming that the export of its food and fertilizers is seriously difficult. Despite this, Ukraine managed to displace Russia from the Black Sea and continue the transport of grain with the help of drones and its own resources.

Military expert Mariusz Cielma said that for Russia, restoring the Black Sea initiative is a convenient topic. He emphasized that Moscow is building a message about concessions, but in practice this means nothing to her, because Ukraine exports grain and pushed the Russian fleet to a deep defensive.

– This year, there was no Russian navy ship for the most of the days in the Azov Sea and the Black Sea. The Russians have long ago, this area of ​​surgery, was given in the Ukrainian side – the expert emphasized.

– It seems to me that this is not such a critical topic for Ukraine to need her consent or a guarantee of security from the Russian Federation to achieve her goals – said Cielma.

On Sunday, US and Ukraine delegations met in Riyadh. Minister of Defense Rust, who heads the Ukrainian team, informed in the evening that the talks were “productive and meaty”. Safety issues, protection of energy facilities and critical infrastructure were discussed.

On Friday, the American special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg reported that the delegations of Ukraine and Russia will be located during conversations in separate rooms, and negotiations will take place in the form of “pendulum diplomacy”: the intermediaries were to move between the rooms and provide information from the other side.

According to “Washington Post” in Saudi Arabia, there will be no face to face the delegation of Ukraine and Russia, which – according to the newspaper – testifies to the huge discrepancies dividing both sides, despite Trump's assurances that achieving peace “has never been closer”.

Regardless of the talks in Riyadh, Russia continues to fire the Ukrainian territory. On Monday, the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski He informed that almost 90 people, including 17 children, were injured as a result of Russia's rocket attack on the city of sums in the northeast of Ukraine.

At night from Saturday to Sunday in Kiev, three people died in the attack of Russian drones, among them a five -year -old girl and her father. The day before, the Russian attack in Zaporozhye deprived the whole family: mother, father and daughter – said Zelnski.
