From January 1, the minimum wage will increase by PLN 366 to PLN 4,666 gross, and the minimum hourly rate will increase to PLN 30.50 gross. According to government estimates, the minimum wage increase will affect approximately 3.2 million people.
From January 1, the minimum wage will be PLN 4,666 – that's 53.83%. average salary in the national economy forecast for 2025.
It will also increase with the minimum wage minimum hourly rate for specific civil law contracts and will amount to PLN 30.50 gross.
New amount minimum wage it also means a cost of PLN 11.8 billion for small and medium-sized companies, and PLN 3.15 billion for large companies.
Method of determining the minimum wage
The amount of the minimum remuneration for work was determined based on the conditions specified in Art. 5 of the Act, i.e. increasing the final amount of the minimum wage set for 2024 (effective from July 1) by the total price index of consumer goods and services forecast in the draft budget act for 2025 (105%) and the application of the verification indicator (1.0334) due to the difference between the actual (111.4%) and the forecast (107.8%) price increase in 2023 r.
Due to the fact that the amount of the minimum remuneration for work in 2024 (PLN 4,300), from which the amount of the average minimum remuneration for work in 2025 is calculated, is higher than half of the average remuneration in the first quarter of 2024 (8,147, PLN 38), two-thirds of the forecasted real increase was not taken into account when calculating the minimum wage for 2025 GDP.
Total employee income
According to government estimates, the number of people affected by the minimum wage increase is over 3.2 million.
Pursuant to the applicable regulations, the minimum wage is not limited to work basic salary. This is the employee's total income for the nominal working time in a given month. Therefore, in addition to the basic salary, it also includes other remuneration components and employee benefits
However, when determining the amount of the minimum wage, the internship allowance, overtime allowance, jubilee bonus, retirement and disability severance pay and allowance for night work.
