Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar declassified documents regarding the purchase of the PiS government of the Pegasus espionage system. The purchase was financed from the justice fund, officially intended for the victims of crime, and the contract was signed by Michał Woś, the then Deputy Minister of Justice. PiS in response to this declassification threatens the minister of the prosecutor's office and reports.
By the decision of the Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar, not only the Sejm inquiry commission, but everyone can now see documents regarding the process of purchasing the Pegasus system.
“I believe that public opinion should learn the most details about the purchase of the PEGASUS system by our predecessors. That's why I decided to present declared documents in this matter. Thank you to the Central Anti -Corruption Bureau for consent to declassify the documents” – we read in a message published on the website of the Ministry of Justice.
Adam Bodnar decided to declassify nine letters that circled between the CBA, the Ministry of Justice and the Justice Fund. The first is the application to the then Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobra signed by Ernest Bejda, the then head of the CBA, to transfer PLN 25 million to the system, whose name is not rained in the entire documentation. “These funds will be allocated to the purchase of a modern, advanced operational control system, enabling the implementation of tasks in the scope of currently technically inaccessible to the institution,” we read.

“He gave his deputy and the deputy implemented”
The total cost of using Pegasus was estimated only for one year at PLN 40 million. Despite this, the agreement between the then administrator of the Justice Fund Michał Wosie and the then head of the CBA Ernest Bejda had just over an hour and a half.
– This is a violation of the Act on the Central Anti -Corruption Bureau. Such financing cannot take place from these funds – indicates Magdalena Sroka, MP of the third road, chairwoman of the Pegasus Investigation Commission.
In Article 4 of the Act on the Central Anti -Corruption Bureau, it is written that the CBA activity is financed from the state budget. This is a recipe that, among others, prevent abuse.
– The fund concerns the help of victims and preventing crimes. It was clearly recorded that the funds can also be allocated to this type of expenditure. These are all the state budget funds – comments Radosław Fogiel, MP of Law and Justice.
Former Deputy Minister Michał Woś has already heard the accusations for the unlawful transfer of funds from the Justice Fund.
Ziobro: If I appeared on the commission, I would disregard the legal status that applies in Poland
– All public opinion can see today that Zbigniew Ziobro knew everything. He made decisions, he was received by the conclusion, he gave his deputy disposal, and the deputy implemented – notes Tomasz Trela, MP of the left and a member of the Pegasus inquiry commission.
The published documents also include the signatures of Zbigniew Ziobro, although the politician declared a year ago that “Decisions on specific matters that were made in the case of the Justice Fund, except for one, were made by his subordinates. ”
At the same time, Ziobro ensures that everything was done in accordance with the law, although he has not appeared in front of the parliamentary commission examining the Pegasus case five times. First, he referred to his health, and when he no longer disturbed – the pretext became the judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal, filled by his former party friends and former colleagues, with his former subordinate, at the forefront, Bogdan Święczkowski.

Surveillance of Krzysztof Brejza
It was Święczkowski who signed the application for the surveillance of Krzysztof Brejza. – Pegasus is a cyberbronia to fight Hamas created in Israel, and I managed the Civic Coalition campaign in the parliamentary elections in 2019 – indicates the MEP of the Civic Coalition.
The pretext was the investigation into the suspicion of a crime in the Inowrocław City Hall, which was reported by the Mayor of the City, father of the then senator. Krzysztof Brejza had nothing to do with the case, he was never even questioned and he did not hear any allegations.
– The procedure goes in two directions, that is, in this individual direction when it comes to assessment regarding decision making in relation to specific persons, and then it will be more responsibility of individual officers. And the second thing, it is how much this software could be used in the territory of the Commonwealth – said Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar on April 3.
So at the public part of the meeting of the PEGASUS Investigation Commission about his role in the proceedings in which Krzysztof Brejza was under surveillance, prosecutor Michał Kierski said on Friday, who formally led them: “Decision here was very limited here.”
