Policemen from Łódź and Katowice closed the drug factory near Częstochowa at the beginning of the week. – revealed the chemical laboratory. For now, we know about the quantities, i.e. above all by over 50 kilograms of a ready drug, the so -called klefedron, over 120 kilograms of substance, which was in the process of crystallization, and semi -finished products, which also used to produce these substances – says the sergeant. staff. – Last year, the police secured 45 illegal laboratories and over 19 tons of these substances – informs Dr. Artur Malczewski from the domestic Central Counteracting Addiction.

It is about the synthetic derivatives of Katynon – Klefedron, Klofedron, and Mephedron. Laboratory liquidated throughout Poland provide drugs to customers on the domestic market.

– In reports, whether Europol or the European agency for drug affairs, i.e. Euda, established in July last year, Poland is indicated as this most Katynon -like country in Europe – notes the subinsp. Michał Aleksandrowicz, head of the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Central Police Investigation Bureau.

This can also be seen in hospitals. – If we talk about psychoactive substances, people who go to the ward are primarily and above all after using a mephedrone. This is the substance that usually scrolls here – says Dr. Eryk Matuszkiewicz, a toxicologist from the Municipal Hospital Franciszek Raszei in Poznań.

The substance is also called “crystal” or “cocaine for the poor” – for a reason. – Price, if we compared it to the price of at least one gram of cocaine, one gram of klefedron, this is ten times the difference in price. Drugs are increasingly popular among younger people. Therapists alert that they are present in virtually all schools. Last year, 140 underage people came to the Monar Clinic in Poznań.

– After a few uses, this mental addiction will appear, i.e. constant thinking about taking, searching, malaise when he does not take – indicates Dr. Eryk Matuszkiewicz.

Young people get addicted to Katynon derivatives faster and harder – we hear experts. – The crystal makes the greatest havoc in their nervous systems and provokes side effects, which, moreover, bring them to treatment – notes Jagoda Gierczyk.

The use of Katynon derivatives causes very strong psychomotor stimulation, balance disturbances, rapid response changes, high sweating and clearly elevated or reduced heart rate. Also changes in body temperature, breathing and heart disorder. These are drugs that cause euphoria and excitement, trembling hands and expanding the pupils.

– What makes this young man at school reach for stimulants? Perhaps this is a problem that he is not able to deal with stress, maybe he has problems in a peer group, maybe he has problems in the family – notes Dr. Artur Malczewski from the National Center for Counteracting Addictions.

The 26-year-old drug producing at Częstochowa will not earn on it at least for now. He went to temporary detention, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
