Pharmacies in Poland lack a drug called Nakom Mite, which is used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. We received a report on this matter at Kontakt24. “According to the information obtained from the MAH, the next delivery is scheduled for the end of March this year,” informed the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate.

On Contact24 We received information from Mrs. Hanna from Starogard Gdański, who reported the lack of Nakom Mite in pharmacies. The woman also tried to find the drug on drug search websites, but to no avail.

“My reserves have run out”

– I have been suffering from Parkinson's for several years. Nakom Mite is a drug that has helped me a lot from the beginning and brings excellent results. Unfortunately, for some time, maybe a year, there has been a problem with obtaining it. This is a huge problem because there is no substitute for Nakom Mite. Switching to another drug is often not possible, and even if it is, it also takes time – says Ms. Hanna. – I had one prescription in stock, but now my reserves have run out and it turns out that this medicine is not available in all of Poland. This has been going on for several months. I went to a neurologist, but the doctor said that changing to another drug did not make sense, because to get off the drug, you had to systematically reduce the dose. Nakom Mite is a very good drug in the initial and intermediate stages. By taking it, you don't need any others. I haven't taken it for a few days because it's nowhere to be found and I'm already starting to feel bad, she adds.

This is another signal about the lack of this drug in Polish pharmacies. Mrs. Joanna informed us about this in November.

We asked the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate about the availability of the drug.

“The MAH reported to the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products the extension of the temporary suspension of the marketing of the Nakom Mite medicinal product until March 10, 2025,” we read in the response sent by GIF.

Originally, the drug was to be suspended from circulation by the MAH until January 31, 2024.

As GIF added, the information obtained from the responsible entity shows that the next delivery is scheduled for the end of March this year.
