Over PLN 13 billion was the loss of the National Bank of Poland for 2024 – according to the financial statements of the Central Bank.
The loss of the NBP for 2024 amounted to PLN 13 billion 347.9 million. It was influenced by:
- negative result in the title of monetary policy in the amount of PLN 21 billion 166.1 million,
- negative result in the title of exchange rate differences in the amount of PLN 8 billion PLN 340.2 billion,
- A positive result of reserve management in the amount of PLN 19 billion 760.5 million.
Other parameters
According to the NBP, the result from interest in 2024 was negative and amounted to PLN 1 billion 390.6 million.
It was added that the result from financial operations in 2024 was negative and amounted to PLN 10 billion 814.6 million (in 2023 minus PLN 32 billion 585.0 million).
The loss of the NBP for 2023 amounted to PLN 20.8 billion.

The National Bank of Poland is the Central Bank of the Republic of Poland. The basic task of the NBP is to maintain a stable price level, while supporting the government's economic policy, unless it limits the basic purpose of the NBP.
According to the monetary policy assumptions developed by the Monetary Policy Council, the goal of NBP is to maintain inflation – understood as a percentage annual change in the price index of consumer goods and services – at 2.5 percent. with a symmetrical compartment of +/- percentage width in the medium period.
