Buying a TV is a serious investment that will serve us for years to come. Therefore, it is particularly important that the decision to choose a specific model is well-thought-out and based on reliable premises. Unfortunately, the store display itself can mislead us.
“Turning up” TVs in stores
Producers and sellers know very well how to attract our attention. Each TV on display works in shop mode. Appropriately prepared films, brightness increased to the maximum, colors screaming, and the contrast makes even gray sceneries look like straight out of a movie. Disney. The problem is that in the privacy of your home, such settings would be unbearable. The effect would be completely different due to the lighting conditions and displayed materials.
Lights, lots of lights
IN stores with electronics we will not experience natural light. These fluorescent lights and LEDs overhead enhance the positive but artificial effect. In such lighting, even a budget TV can look like premium equipment. Meanwhile, in the dark at home, with a lamp or natural light, the image may turn out to be flat and simply ugly.
Temptation with beautiful pictures
Every TV shows the same thing – mesmerizing shots of nature, dynamic sports scenes, exploding fireworks. Everything in slow motion, everything perfectly timed. But we rarely watch such materials at home. Instead, we rely on TV stations or VOD movies, where the images require completely different settings. This is not the case in the store you will check – no one will let you turn on your own movie or regular TV.
How not to fall for it?
Before you pull a card, do your own research. Search the Internet for tests and reviews of a specific model. See what people write about it in the reviews in various online stores. And in the stationary store itself, don't be afraid to ask about technical details – a good salesperson should be able to explain how the technical features of a given model translate into its quality.
