The driver first allegedly threatened to kill the passengers and then caused the car to roll over. The people in the vehicle suffered serious injuries. The man will be charged with attempted murder.

The incident took place on the night of November 19-20 at Aleje Wolności in Nowy Sącz. – The driver of the passenger car, moving at high speed, threatened his passengers with death, and then made a right turn, hitting a retaining wall, which resulted in the vehicle rolling over – reports Justyna Rataj-Mykietyn from the District Prosecutor's Office in Nowy Sącz.

According to the spokeswoman, the passengers suffered injuries that lasted for more than seven days.

Charge of attempted murder for the driver

Investigators secured, among other things, monitoring of the car's route. The opinion was prepared by a road traffic expert. – Interviews with the victims and eyewitnesses of the incident allowed the suspect to be charged with attempted murder. The man did not plead guilty to the alleged act and provided extensive explanations, says Rataj-Mykietyn. He adds: – It was established that he was sober, and blood was taken from him for further toxicological tests. We don't know the results of these studies yet.

Witnesses testified that immediately before the incident the man threatened to kill them. When asked about the reasons for the threat, the prosecutor said that due to the early stage of the investigation and verification of the suspect's explanations, investigators did not provide such information. However, she confirmed that the driver and passengers knew each other before. Photos from the scene of the accident show that the driver may have worked for a corporation that organizes rides on the app. However, according to the prosecutor's findings, on the night of November 19-20, he was driving his friends privately.

The website Onet.pl, which was the first to write about the case, reports that the reason for the threats was the passengers' request for the driver not to drive so fast.
