Oshawa-Dąbrowa. Drunk hit a pedestrian. He jumped into the lake. He was waiting there for policemen

The man walked along the lake when he was hit by a car. Nothing happened to him, but he sensed alcohol from the driver. So he took the man's keys and called the police. The perpetrator, when he heard that the officers were on the road, he jumped into the lake. However, he did not run away, he stayed there until the patrol came.

The incident occurred in Osława-Dąbrowa (Pomeranian Voivodeship). Policemen got a report from the man whom the car hit when he walked along the shoreline of the lake.

He added that nothing happened to him, but when the driver left the vehicle, the pedestrian sensed alcohol from him, so to prevent him from driving further, he pulled out the keys and called the emergency number. 45 -year -old drunk, as soon as he heard that officers were going to the place, he went to escape and jumped into the lake – says Sergeant. He didn't run away. He stayed in the water until the officers arrived.

A sobriety test showed that the man had 1.6 per mil of alcohol in his body.

– He told the police that he consumed alcohol by the lake, then wanted to move to his other side. While driving, however, he did not notice a pedestrian and hit him. He did not want to make a struggle between them, so he jumped into the lake – adds a press officer.

The officers detained the man's driving license. He will answer for causing a collision outside the public and driving a vehicle in a state of intoxication. He faces up to 3 years in prison.
