The prosecutor's office in Ostrołęka completed the investigation in the case of 31-year-old Mateusz M. accused of committing 27 fraud and causing damage in a total amount of about two and a half million zlotys. One of the victims of the fraudster was a widow of a man who died in a road accident.
A spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office, prosecutor Elżbieta Edyta Łukasiewicz said that in the course of the investigation it was established that Mateusz M. was active in Warsaw, Ostrołęka, Pułtusk, Ostrów Mazowiecka, Myszyniec, Kadzidła, Maków Mazowiecki, Łysych, Nowogrod and other smaller towns.
“In the period from 2017 to December 2023, he extorted from 13 friends a loan in the total amount of PLN 425,000 700. He borrowed for purposes related to settling matters in offices, explaining to his friends that he had problems with the law. During meetings with contractors, he showed them photos of equipment that could bring from abroad.
