Four teenagers from Oświęcim met to drink alcohol. One of them probably tried to climb over a fence while under the influence, but he impaled his calf on a sharp object and hung on the fence. Firefighters had to cut a section of the gate to free him.
The report was received by the operator of the 112 emergency number on the night from Wednesday to Thursday after 2 a.m. A teenager informed him that his friend had punctured his calf while climbing over the fence of a single-family home.
The police and fire department went to the scene. “In order to provide aid to the injured man, the firefighters had to cut out a section of the gate where the boy's leg was stuck. Then they secured the limb with the metal element and handed the injured man over to the care of paramedics. The teenager was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the foreign body from his leg,” the Małopolska police report.

The police established the circumstances of the incident. It turned out that four teenagers met at the home of one of them. Three of them drank alcohol taken from their parents' bar.
“While crossing the fence, one of them lost his balance, as a result of which he impaled himself on a sharp element of the gate,” we read in the statement. The police officers detected the smell of alcohol on the boy, but due to his injuries, the 15-year-old was not breathalysed. Two of the other boys had per mille of alcohol in their bodies.
“In the case of persons under 18 years of age, alcohol consumption is a manifestation of demoralization, so the case materials will be transferred to the District Court in Oświęcim, Family and Minors Division, in order to initiate a case for counteracting demoralization,” the police announced.
