Otwock. Water is suitable for drinking and washing, restrictions

– The tap water is already suitable for drinking and bathing – said President Otwock on Monday. And he appealed to limit its use in the coming days. Barczowoje and points with bottle water will function until the situation is completely stabized.

President of Otwock Jarosław Margielski stipulated that the information that “water is already fit for use must be subject to rationality and responsibility from the residents.” Say simpler: it's about limiting its use in the near future.

– Excessive use of water at one time by residents will cause pressure drops on the network, no water on the upper floors of multi -family buildings and in the remote parts of the city of Otwock and the city of Karczew. Therefore, until the situation stabilizes on the water supply network, drinking water distribution points through barrels, as well as the distribution of bottled drinking water remain invariably in the same places – Jarosław Margielski said at the Monday conference. Portable toilets set up in several dozen points of the city also remain in their places.

Large water supply failure

Residents' problems began last week. In Otwock at night from Tuesday to Wednesday there was a water treatment station. Residents of the city, as well as neighboring Karczew, could not use water from taps for drinking, cooking and even washing. It could only be rinsed by toilets. The consequences of the failure were felt for about 60,000 people. In both towns, barrels and water were distributed in plastic bottles.
