A 76-year-old woman died in a tragic fire in Turku. It was the fire in her apartment. 42 firefighters participated in the action. 55 people were evacuated from the building, seven were injured.

As captain Jacek Erkiert from the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Turku reports, the smoke of the cage made it difficult for people to leave their apartments on the upper floors.

According to firefighters from Turku, some residents tried to save themselves-some got out of the building through windows or balconies.

– Rescuers had to carry out two -track activities – locate a fire on the ground floor and evacuate people injured from the upper floors of this cage – said Erkiert.

As a result of the fire, a 76-year-old woman was killed in the apartment of which a fire broke out. Seven people were injured, two medical rescue teams provided two help.

The reason is still unknown

The expert in the field of fire and the police under the supervision of the prosecutor still works on the spot. The causes of the outbreak of the fire are not yet known.

A helping point was launched at Primary School No. 1 in Turku. – Two people without other shelter were given accommodation in the hostel – told the director of MOPS in Turku Małgorzata Modrzejewska. As she assured, victims can benefit from psychological power.

The inhabitants of the block will be informed during the day whether they will be able to return to their apartments.
