MP of Law and Justice Janusz Kowalski and Robert Bąkiewicz came with intervention to the Primary School in Bielany. They claimed that the management of the facility intends to remove the Polish emblem in the room, where the eighth grade exam would take place. They were accompanied by right -wing television. The mayor of Bielany expressed his indignation with intervention on Saturday. – The director and the facility's team intimidated – he said. The Ministry of National Education also referred to the matter.
The mayor Bielan Grzegorz Pietruczuk informed about the case on Saturday morning, emphasizing that he was outraged. “MP Janusz Kowalski and Robert Bąkiewicz, together with the accompanying Television Team WPOLSCE24, broke into the area of Primary School No. 209 yesterday, where they intimidated the director and team of the institution” – we read in the entry.
As the mayor explained, the reason for the intervention was “the alleged removal of the emblem from the wall in the classroom, where the eighth grade exam would be conducted. He added that such a situation had never happened. He at the same time assessed that the” competence of the deputy and abuse “had” exceeded the competences of the MP and abuse. “
They claimed that the director had to remove the emblem
The MP also published a recording on Facebook, where he talked about intervention. He registered them, standing in front of the entrance to the Bielany District Office.
“Rafał Trzaskowski in 2024 ordered to remove crosses in buildings belonging to the Warsaw City Hall. And today I am asking, in 2025, whether he also ordered school heads to remove the emblem of the Republic of Poland. In the case of such an emblem, I intervened at Primary School No. 209 in Warsaw's Bielany, in the city ruled by Rafał Trzaskowski, where this situation was ordered. Removing the Polish emblem from the rooms in which students are to have the exam. ” – said the MP on the recording.

“The staff felt threatened”
The mayor described how the intervention went to his knowledge. “Despite the clear order to leave the school area, they took the office of the Director's office. The staff felt threatened by their presence and words. Immediately after the phone from school, I contacted our District Headquarters, which sent a police patrol to the institution,” said Pietruczuk.
He added that the men did not wait for the patrol arrival, moving after 16.00 in front of the district office. Pietruczuk explained that at that time he was on his way to a business meeting, so he was not found in the building.
– I am outraged that no one (before – ed.) He tried to contact us, i.e. the district office – said the mayor of Bielany on Saturday. – It was enough to call and explain this situation. Five minutes of conversation would be enough and we would not have such a situation, i.e. the scared of the director who had to leave her office. He was occupied by a deputy, Mr. Bąkiewicz and television and was occupied by them. Parents and children were witnessing this situation – he pointed out.
The mayor explained in an interview with the TVN24 reporter that during the Pedagogical Council last week there was a conversation about removing teaching aids from walls in exam rooms during the exams. – We have various types of maps, poems, simplifications. Each of us went to school and knows what is on the walls. (It was about – ed.) So that there would be no accusations that it would be possible to download. Students also have different needs so that nothing distracts them. For me – as a person who is not a teacher, but I know what the exams look like – this is a very logical translation. There were no bad intentions in this action – he explained.
Announce complaints and a request to the police for a patrol in front of the school
“The disgust is all the greater because the described history concerns Primary School No. 209. Yes, the same school in which only a few days ago we celebrated the Flag Day, where together with students, parents and teachers – over a thousand people – we formed a live flag” – pointed out Pietruczuk. He also posted a photo of this event.

The district authorities intend to lodge a complaint about the behavior of MP Kowalski to the Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia. They also want to lodge a complaint to the National Broadcasting Council on television in WPOLSK24.
At the same time, the mayor announces that he will ask the police to secure the school area on Tuesday, when the eighth grade exams begin. He wants to prevent a similar situation. “We will not allow children to be exposed to similar scenes of aggression,” emphasized Pietruczuk.
The mayor of Bielany appealed: “Please, let's not make everything politics. Let's not make her at the expense of educators. Pedagogues who devote so much for us. Let's not get involved in a hate campaign against the director and her employees based on imaginary allegations.”
“Let's not do it at the expense of students and their parents. Is the approaching exam not a sufficient reason for nerves? We really want our youth to take it in an atmosphere of media hysteria, which also has nothing to do with reality?” he added.
He noted that he also counts on the reaction of law enforcement agencies regarding hateful comments against the director of SP 209, who flooded social media on the material of right -wing television.
Reaction of the Ministry of National Education
The Ministry of National Education also referred to the matter. “The school is a place that should be free from conducting an election campaign and political happenings. Introduction to the Primary School in Warsaw in Bielany, which was then explicitly used to attack the candidate in the election is unacceptable” – reads in the department's entry on the X.
As the representatives of the ministry emphasize, the allegations raised by politicians “are untrue”.
“We would like to remind you that the Emblem of the Republic of Poland is placed in classrooms, also during exams. No organ in the school or local government issued another decision in this matter. The Ministry of National Education in cooperation with school superintendents and local governments will make every effort to ensure that nobody disturbs the course of exams in schools, including the 8 -class examination starting on Tuesday.
