Płońsk. The police drank alcohol on duty, they drove a police car into the fence. They heard the allegations

The prosecutor's office charged policemen from Płońsk who drank alcohol during service. One of them will also be responsible for running a police car in a state of intoxication. The case came to light when the car crashed on the fence of the property.

The police car hit the fence of the property at Jana Pawła II Street in Płońsk. The incident occurred on Saturday around 5.40. The car was moved by a patrol, consisting of two officers: 32- and 34-year-old. When another crew arrived, in the vehicle – on the rear passenger sofa – a younger policeman sat. He had about two per mille of alcohol in his body. The second was detained on one of the streets of Płońska. He was also intoxicated. The study showed that he had about 0.7 per mil in his body.

The men were detained. The procedural activities ended on Sunday around 9pm. – They both heard allegations regarding failure to comply with duties and exceeding official rights regarding the fact that at a time when they should perform patrol and intervention service, they did not perform it and consumed alcohol, having a service weapon with them – informs prosecutor Bartosz Maliszewski, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Płock.

He adds that the content of the above allegations also applies to the fact that the policemen were to transport a police car to people who were in the vehicle, although this was not related to his service activities.

– In addition, one of the policemen heard the charge of driving a motor vehicle in a state of intoxication – says the prosecutor.

Policemen refused to explain

– Both policemen confessed to the alleged acts and refused to explain. The prosecutor applied libertarian preventive measures to them, such as: an order to stay in a specific place, a ban on leaving the country and a ban on acting as a policeman – says prosecutor Maliszewski.

He announces that investigators will, among other things, examine whether, by their actions, the police have exposed anyone to the danger of losing their lives or health. To this end, they will determine whether on Saturday morning in the area where they should serve, there were no events requiring police intervention.

Service consequences

A spokeswoman for the Płońsk police, Commissioner Kinga Drężek-Zzysłowska informed on Saturday that both officers would suffer strict official consequences. – We took actions aimed at exploring both officers from the service – she said.

The younger police officer has been in service for nine years, while older than 12.
