Investigators are investigating the financing of Law and Justice election campaigns in 2019-2021 in Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie. Three people have already heard allegations. The investigation is still ongoing.

The proceedings concern local elections in 2019, presidential elections in 2020 and early elections for the president of Rzeszów in 2021.

According to TVN24 journalist Michał Gołębiowski, investigators charged three people. – It's about illegal, outside the legal framework, financing election campaigns. The allegations were heard by people who held prominent positions during these campaigns in local government institutions and state -owned companies – said Gołębiowski.

The investigation is developmental

Radio ESKA provided the first information about the allegations. This suspects, according to the findings of journalists, Iwona O., Marek S., and Janusz F. The first two were associated with one of the spas, the third was the president of the state company.

– These persons illegally donated donations to the Law and Justice campaign in order to keep their positions, according to the prosecutor's office – told the journalist of TVN24. He noted that the investigation is developmental and more people can hear.

When asked about the financing mechanism of the Gołębiewski campaign analyzed by the prosecutor's office, he reported that “he was not too sophisticated.” “It was just about transferring money in cash,” he said. It was to appear information about the transfer of cash, amounts from several hundred to several thousand zlotys. This happened outside the official register.

Until now, the prosecutor's office was already to question several dozen people, including politicians and local government officials. The investigation is still ongoing. They are led by the Silesian branch of the Department of Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice.
