Gawkowski said that the Ministry of Digitization decided to hand over to Ukraine more Starlinks. – We order another five thousand Starlinks, they are already partly paid and will be sent to Ukraine in the coming weeks, months – assured the deputy prime minister.

He reminded that 25,000 Starlinks are already working in Ukraine. – We are the greatest security donor of Ukraine in Europe – he said.

Starlink sets are mobile routers that provide access to satellite internet. About 85 percent of 20,000 terminals operating in Ukraine were completely or partially financed from external sources, including by governments USAGreat Britain and Poland.

The deputy prime minister also referred to recent events around a possible truce in War in Ukraine. – American choices always affect geopolitics in an unbelievable way. We have President of the United Stateswhich is not fully predictable, because it says a lot. And whether he really thinks what he says, we are not sure about it – he said.

He assured that “Polish-American cooperation regarding security is unwavering.” – The Polish government will cooperate with every American administration, because for the government the most important is the security of Poland, Polish women and Poles – said the deputy prime minister.

Gawkowski also commented on criticism from the former defense minister Mariusz Błaszczak (PiS) after the National Security Council. After the meeting of the Prime Minister Donald Tusk He said that “the need for Poles' political unity in the face of the east was understood by everyone (…) Only Mariusz Błaszczak did not understand.” The head of the PiS club reacted to his words. “Mr. Tusk, the unity of Poles is important, but above all you need to take care of the safety of our homeland. And you do not do it” – said Blaszczak.

The minister of digitization mentioned that when he took part in these meetings as a representative of the opposition, “above political divisions during the war, we thought how to secure Poland, how to increase defense funds.” – There was no quarrel then. Today, when I look at Mr. Błaszczak, we are dealing with a grotesque approach to the security of the former defense minister, a former deputy prime minister who is not looking for agreements – said Gawkowski.

– We were in the time of the opposition where the PiS government was about security matters. Today, PiS is convinced that the government needs to be criticized – he added.

On Tuesday Council of Ministers adopted a regulation on Establishment of the IDEAS Research Institute. The IDEAS Institute is to play a key role in designing innovative tools for the defense sector, as well as in the implementation of modern services in administration. According to previous information, the Institute's activity is to focus on priority research areas, such as artificial intelligence, machine vision, computer graphics, natural language processing, as well as on projects with groundbreaking potential.

The Ministry of Digitization is to equip the unit with funds in the amount of PLN 20 million, which is to allow its creation, organization and start of operations. – On the one hand, we create the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, which will hire scientists to create research, carry out their mission so that there is no drainage of the mind, so that they do not run abroad. On the other hand, we create an artificial intelligence fund, which will spend four billion zlotys in this year, including from the National Center for Research and Development of the State Budget. We are already creating an artificial intelligence factory that will have its headquarters at AGH in Krakow – clarified the head of MC.

Work at the Institute – as the minister explained – will focus, among others, to “use AI in the future to quickly diagnose oncological diseases”. – I am a fan of this project – admitted Gawkowski.
