Mariusz Błaszczak, head of the Law and Justice parliamentary club, said on Wednesday evening that the PiS candidate for president has not yet been elected. He expressed his belief that the decision would be made at the turn of November and December.
On Wednesday evening, a conversation with Błaszczak was published on the Law and Justice profile on the X platform.
The head of the PiS club was asked, among others, about the party's candidate for president. Błaszczak said he would not say who the PiS candidate would be. – For a simple reason – this candidate has not been elected yet, consultations are still ongoing – he added.
– The decision has not been made. (…) I am convinced that such a decision will be made at the turn of November and December – said the head of the PiS club.
Earlier on Wednesday, PiS sources informed that the party's top authorities could decide within a few hours who will be the party's candidate for president, and the candidate's presentation could take place on Saturday.
PiS MP Ryszard Terlecki he said on Wednesday in Polsat News that “at the moment the choice between two names is being made.” – It's about Przemysław Czarnek and Karol Nawrocki – he added. He also noted that there are always surprises in such circumstances.
On Tuesday, the head of PiS Jarosław Kaczyński he said during the press conference that PiS will probably make a decision without knowing yet who the KO candidate for president will be. KO's candidate was announced on Saturday after the Friday primaries in which the mayor of Warsaw will face off Rafał Trzaskowski and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski.
