Dangerous situation on provincial road number 214 in Przedbojowice (Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship). Mr. Mateusz recorded with a video recorder a driver who was driving a car with a technical fault. The driver was driving only on the rim, and sparks were coming from under his vehicle. The police have not received any reports in this regard so far.
The video shows that the car was missing a tire on the left side of the rear axle. The driver was riding on the rim and sparks were coming from under the vehicle. The condition of the right tire also left much to be desired. Mr. Mateusz witnessed this dangerous driving and recorded the event with a video recorder.
– On Tuesday morning, just before 8 o'clock, on my way to work, I encountered a young man driving a car without one wheel. The driver was driving from Kruszwica towards Inowrocław. Shocked by the sight of a car with sparks flying from it, I took out my phone and recorded a short video. You can see the missing left rear wheel and the second tire, which was in a terrible condition – said Mr. Mateusz.
Mr. Mateusz added that the driver gave the impression that he was not at all interested in the fact that he was driving without a wheel. – The situation is unusual and at least strange – emphasized our interlocutor.
What do the police say?
The Inowrocław police have not received any reports regarding this matter so far. However, as junior aspirant Emil Gawroński from the District Police Headquarters in Inowrocław points out, driving a vehicle that is not technically efficient may have severe consequences.
– Driving in such a technical condition is, of course, irresponsible behavior and should not take place. Pursuant to the Code of Petty Offenses, a police officer may impose a fine of up to PLN 3,000 on the driver for driving a vehicle that is technically defective. Of course, the policeman has the right to keep the registration certificate. However, for using a vehicle that destroys the road surface, the tariff provides for PLN 300 and 2 penalty points. Additionally, if the road manager finds damage to the road infrastructure, he has the right to demand compensation for the damage, which may involve covering the costs of repairing the road surface, said junior aspirant Emil Gawroński from the District Police Headquarters in Inowrocław.
