On Friday, in Przybyszew (Masovian Voivodeship), a bag containing money was stolen from a postman's car. There was over six thousand zlotys inside. After just two hours, the perpetrator was in the hands of the police.
On Friday in Przybyszewo, a 52-year-old man first accosted the postman and asked him for a loan. When he was rejected, he decided to deal with it in a different way.
– He took advantage of the post office employee's inattention and when he was delivering correspondence to the village residents, he took a bag with money from an unlocked car – said Joanna Golus, spokeswoman for the District Police Headquarters in BiaÅ‚obrzegi.
The police arrested the thief a few hours later. It turned out that he had already bought alcohol with some of the stolen money. At the time of his arrest, the 52-year-old had more than three permille. After sobering up, he was charged with theft. He pleaded guilty. He faces a sentence of up to five years in prison.
