Radosław Sikorski about the situation in Ukraine, suspension of weapons, negotiations

The way of ending this war will determine the correlation of forces on our continent and a sense of security – said in “Facts after Facts” on TVN24 Radosław Sikorski, head of Polish diplomacy. He said that “Russian reserves wear out very quickly” and “there is a script in which Russia is simply not's shortage of people and equipment.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke in “Facts after Facts” on TVN24 about the situation concerning Ukraine and international negotiations aimed at completing it.

– 10 years ago the European Union was greater, Great Britain was a member, Russia negotiated an association agreement, the United States clearly supported European integration, and China Relations were very correct. And today all these elements are different – he admitted.

– So I would describe it – the international situation is for Poland, for Europe today worse than it was a decade ago. But, thank God, Poland is much stronger and we have allies, we are not alone – he continued.

He added that “a lot depends on us, as we will stand up to the challenge in rearming in Europe, how we strengthen the European Union and how we keep the North Atlantic Alliance.” – And above all, as we help Ukraine, repel aggression – he emphasized.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that “the way of ending this war will determine the correlation of forces on our continent and also about a sense of security.” – I think we can't be sure what our big neighbor Russia will do as long as this country is at the forefront Vladimir Putin he added.

– Russia is today a bloody dictatorship, has more political prisoners than in the late Soviet Union and built ideology, washed the brains, about returning to the empire. So Russia under this leadership and such a state ideology will be a threat as long as it has leadership – said TVN24 guest.

Sikorski about “dustving the situation”

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also talked about the vision of the end of the war by the Americans.

– My Ukrainian interlocutors say that they are grateful to the United States for such a sprabic situation in which their American talks with Putin are possible – he added.

At the same time, he added that “this is against the canons of diplomacy.” – According to the traditional canon, a confidential communication channel opens first, the intentions of the other party are being investigated, then some means of trust are being built, and the leaders are just blessing the contract, which is almost ready. Donald Trump He has its own personal style, but Ukrainians tell me that this creates hope for accelerating certain processes that – they hope – will lead to a lasting room. So they give Donald Trump a loan of trust – said Sikorski.

Sikorski: Russian reserves are used very quickly

The guest of TVN24 also talked about what the position of Russia itself is today.

– On the one hand, when the atomic power threatens neighbors, of course these neighbors have the right to feel concerned. On the other hand, three years after the announcement of a three -day special military operation, Putin is still fighting in Donbass. This is not a success – he said.

– Russia mobilized the economy, it is expected – it is estimated – 40 percent of the budget at the expense of investment, health and so on, for reinforcements, but also consumes hardware reserves inherited from the Soviet Union. She started with a resource of over 13,000 old Soviet tanks, which she modernized. Most of them destroyed the Ukrainians and produce even with this mobilization, about 200 new tanks are estimated a year. So Russian reserves wear out very quickly – he pointed out.

At the same time, Sikorski added that “there is a script in which Russia is simply missing to miss people and equipment to continue this harassment war.”

“Poland will be in this coalition, but not physically in Ukraine alone”

Sikorski also talked about the so -called “coalition of volunteers”, i.e. a group of about 30 countries supporting Ukraine, whose leaders met on Thursday in Paris. After the meeting, the President of France Emmanuel Macron he said that Reasurance forces issued by several countries may be sent to Ukraine. This would happen after the weapon is suspended.

Sikorski said that “Poland would be in this coalition, but not physically in Ukraine alone.” – Echoes of conversations and staff in Great Britain and political in Paris are heard differently. For now, these concepts are still played – he said.
