The founder of InPost emphasizes that global turbulence may not affect his business directly, but it does indirectly. Rafał Brzoska as Elon Musk? “I am not involved in current political disputes”
The president of InPost also says in an interview with the portal Business Zonethat he has no intention of following in the footsteps of Elon Musk, who bet quite heavily on Donald Trump in the last election. Rafał Brzoska claims that he does not plan to run in any political elections.
– I am not involved in current political disputes, I do not support or finance any party or related projects elections one or another – he emphasizes and adds that he leaves politics to professionals. – I am a boy from the small commune of Nędza, raised in a traditional Polish family – reminds Brzoska, who assures that he prefers to focus on developing his business.
Why is InPost not available in Germany? The dominant player and the “cultural barrier”
In Poland, the InPost parcel locker network covers 24,000. machines, in Great Britain it is about 8 thousand, in France 6 thousand, but you will not find them in Germany. Rafał Brzoska reveals the reasons. – The position of the privatized German post office, combined with DHL, is so strong that even German competitors, such as Hermes, or large foreign concerns such as GLS and DPD, are not able to carve out a piece of this market without great effort and losses. – says the businessman. He emphasizes that instead of “entering the minefield”, he prefers to compete in markets where there is no such dominant player. But that's not all.
– There is also a cultural barrier – German society, which is quite conservative. He is more likely to choose German manufacturers and German suppliers, we see this in the case of selling cars, selling machines, and electronics. This is what we, Poles, could learn from them – says the president of InPost. In conversation he also mentioned huge taxeswhich his company pays. In his opinion, looking at what they are taxes pays in Poland InPostand how much foreign companies, German DHL or French DPD, pay, “there is a disproportion that is even several hundred times higher.” In September he wrote on social mediathat InPost paid CIT in the amount of PLN 250 million in 2023, and all other courier companies operating in Poland a total of PLN 97.9 million CIT.

The owner of InPost admits that he did not want to buy this company, but he watched “with sadness” what was happening to Rafako, because his parents previously worked there. – Looking at a company that was a world leader in the energy sector, and today it is closing down, laying off people – regardless of the aid packages that we, as a state, are trying to allocate to save this company – I am sorry – said Brzoska.
