  1. Arsenal

The Gunners have been quite active in this transfer window and have successfully signed some of their long-term targets. Among all the transfers made this season, the club’s statement transfer has been the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, which shows that Arteta’s men mean business and are not messing around in the transfer window this season.

Among other notable additions are Fabio Vieira and Maquinhos; the club has also acquired the services of Matt Turner from the New England Revolution.

Grade: B

  1. Chelsea

Of all the clubs in the top 6, Chelsea is probably having the worst transfer window so far. The club has lost a number of its key players for free and has failed to bring in any reinforcements apart from the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City. The club recently completed the signing of the Englishman for a fee north of 45 million pounds.

Notable departures include those of Antonia Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, who have both left on a free transfer. Chelsea is under-manned on defense and has failed to sign any players to improve their back-line.

Grade: E

  1. Manchester City

Manchester City has been one of the most active teams in this year’s transfer window. The club has successfully signed a couple of its long-term targets in Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips.

The signing of Haaland is the headline transfer of this window; it has allowed CIty to get much-needed attacking prowess that had been missing since the departure of Aguero. The addition of Kalvin Phillips also provides added cover in the midfield.

The departures of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling have also reduced the wage bill and allowed the club to accommodate Haaland’s wages.

Grade: A

  1. Manchester United

On the other side of the city, United has only added Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen to its lineup. However, the departures of Pogba, Mata, Matic, and others have allowed the club to begin its much-needed rebuild.

Grade: C

  1. Liverpool

After beating United to the signing of Darwin Nunez, Liverpool has seemed to slow down. Even though Klopp has a perfectly balanced squad, the addition of a couple of quality players can only provide much-needed depth if the club is to challenge for multiple trophies this season.

Grade: C

  1. Tottenham Hotspurs

Tottenham Hotspurs have probably had the best transfer window so far. The club has successfully added a number of proven players to its lineup and looks set to challenge for the top 4. The most notable additions include the signing of RIcharlison from Everton and Ivan Perisic on a free transfer. Other than that, the club has also completed a loan deal for Clement Leglet from FC Barcelona.
