There will be a new housing program: Minister of Development and Technology Krzysztof Paszyk said at the end of December that the ministry was working on a new housing program, which would include, among others: solutions from the “Apartment for the Young” program. They are supposed to appear in it price limits for premisesfor the purchase of which state aid will be granted. The new government housing program is to be presented in the first quarter of 2025.
Criticism of the minister: “Loan subsidies = increase in housing prices = lower availability of housing. Banks and developers win from this” – wrote the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, on social media on Saturday, January 4. She added that limiting subsidies by square footage or price “will concentrate the negative effects in small apartments” and will favor “development of path development“. “I don't understand – where does this stubbornness come from? Loan subsidies are not a solution,” she emphasized.
What does the minister propose? Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz wrote that the supply of apartments should be increased, among others. by increasing the availability of land and developing social housing. “This is the path we should follow,” she added. Credit intermediary Krzysztof Bontal asked what has been stopping the government from introducing these solutions for a year. The Polish Association of Developer Companies (PZFD) agreed with the minister's words. “The release of land and the development of social housing are urgently needed, but also simplification of administrative procedureswhich significantly extend the entire process of implementing housing investments,” we read.
